Live at The Van Dyke South Beach

Sammy Figueroa was born in the Bronx, New York, the son of the well-known romantic singer Charlie Figueroa and a member of Puerto Rico's foremost musical family. His first professional experience came at the age of 18, while attending the University of Puerto Rico, with the band of bassist Bobby Valentin. During this time he cofounded the innovative fusion Brazilian/Latin group Raices, which broke ground for many of today's fusion bands. Raices was signed to a contract with Atlantic Records and Sammy returned to New York.

Sammy Figueroa has long been regarded as one of the world's great musicians. As one of the world's leading percussionists he has played on countless records, providing the rhythmical framework for hundreds of hits. Well-known for his versatility and professionalism, he is one of the few percussionists equally comfortable in a multitude of styles, from R & B to rock to pop to bebop to Latin to Brazilian to New Age. As one of New York's most sought after session players Sammy played on countless albums, jingles and film scores and appeared often with both The David Letterman Band and the Saturday Night Live Band. He has recorded and toured with Miles Davis, the Brecker Brothers (for 12 years!), Sonny Rollins, Michel Camilo (who wrote the tune 'And Sammy Walked In' in his honor), Chaka Khan, David Bowie, and Mariah Carey (in her multi-million selling MTV Unplugged). Sammy's famed sense of humor, ebullient personality, and open-heartedness is famous within the music industry and has further empowered him in his connection with musicians and audiences alike.

John Lennon

A fancy shitter that John Lennon had in his home in Tittenhurst Park between 1969-1972 was sold at auction during the Beatles Convention in Liverpool for £9,500 "to a private overseas buyer." Money well spent.

Lennon wrote some great songs during that period, including "Don't Let Me Down." Hidden message?

Two Fat Ladies was a British television cooking programme starring
Clarissa Dickson Wright and Jennifer Paterson.
The show centered on Clarissa Dickson Wright and Jennifer Paterson, travelling the United Kingdom on a Triumph Thunderbird, registration number appropriately N 88 TFL, driven by Paterson. Wright rode in the sidecar as they travelled to various destinations, such as an army camp or an all-girls' school, where they would prepare large meals, often with unusual ingredients.

Pug people..Valentino, Duke and Duchess of Windsor

 They Liked Pugs
And that's the only nice thing to be said about these pretentious bitches.
At one time they were crown jewels on the world stage, arbiters of international taste and style, flirted with Nazis, rubbed dicks with murderers, committed massive insurance fraud.
The Duke and Duchess of Windsor....adventures with Hitler, a gruesome murder in Bermuda, insurance fraud, and pugs.

Dogs in Vogue...Lee Radziwill taken in 1960 with her pug Thomas. ..

The most expensive house in Brooklyn

Or it will be if it sells for the $18 million asking price. The late author lived at 70 Willow St. in Brooklyn Heights for years, writing his most famous works in the very rooms you could now own.
Of course you'll be haunted by a ghost with a very high-pitched voice, which could get annoying. (Though Capote's ghost would, we imagine, be very happy with the house's elite status.) But otherwise, think of the inspiration! And think of the luxury. The Daily News writes:
With 11 fireplaces, parking for four cars, a mural copied from the Kennedy White House, a back porch and a garden like something out of a Southern estate, the Brooklyn Heights mansion is touted as the finest house in the borough's finest neighborhood. "It's like living in a country estate in the middle of New York City," said Karen Heyman, the Sotheby's broker selling the property. "It takes your breath away the minute you walk in."
Here is said Southern estate garden...
$18 million. Oh, Truman. What would Nelle say?
